The MB-650 Musical Bank receiver is built solid, and is easy to operate. The remote is well design. It displays a nice and sharp music with the external amp, PA-502. The Nakamichi amplifier featuring with the Harmonic Time Alignment, which delivers outstanding human voices and sound field.

The weaknesses for the MB-650 are the following: they do sound a little bit flat when listening to music at lower volume, such as below 16. Second, it takes about 14 second when switching CDs. Third, is the display color. I prefer green then orange.

For the receiver which I brought it from Hong Kong, roughly about US $ 400. For the money, you get more power and more detail in music than in other receivers at same price range. I think it paid off.

Its tough to turn the noisy vehicle interior into a concert hall. Component system consists of a tweeter and mid-range woofer to improve the cars listening environment. Diamond-HEX 600 has been used for the front speakers. I used to have the JBL-P632 in the front as well. However, the HEX-600 reproduces warm musical midrange, plus very detailed on high frequencies thanks to the crossovers that come with the component system are a real plus to improve the musical sound field. I must say that I am impressed by the highly detailed sound. It is the difference between a $100 speaker to a $500 speaker.

About the rear speakers, which is JBL-P632. They sound good when listening to the pop music at any volume. However, on High frequencies output it was OK for the speakers' size, but there is only so much you can expect from such a small coaxial tweeter. My conclusion is the HEX 600 sounds just fantastic when matched and wired with a Naka amplifier and MB-650 CD player.

My latest subwoofer is one 10 - W6 by JL Audio. Max power @ 300 watts. One of the reason I pick W6 instead of others is because they didn't required high power amplifier because it has bigger voice coils and magnets translate to greater handling and higher sensitivity. And they are budget priced. In fact, a 10" W6 is louder than two 12 inches JBLs. However, two 12 inches JBLs play deeper than a 10" W6 indeed. The W6 is able to deliver bass that is more detail and tighter.

However, I am looking forward to test the W6 when I wired it with a more powerful detail amplifier such as Zapco or Phoenix Gold. JL also provide a stylish custom enclosure subwoofer to the wasted trunk space for my Maxima; however, it cost more than US$ 400.

The total amount for my mobile stereo is US $ 1400.

I would like to replace the amplifier and add a capacitor to deliver more musical signal and store more current to the amplifier.

My previous subwoofer system were using two 12" subwoofers by JBL including the band pass box, cost me US $ 100 dollars only!!! However, this system is too big for me; especially I travel a lot with my car. Trunk space is very important to me. I cannot afford to give up 70% of the useful trunk space.

For the amplifier PA-502, which I brought it from Hong Kong, roughly about US $ 100. It is about 50% less than what you paid for in the US.

The subwoofer is powered by the JBL amplifier, GTQ-306, it is solid and produces enough bass with enough power. I brought it from Hong Kong for US $ 60.
