·        Omweso is an ancient “Mancala” count and capture game played in Uganda.  Like chess, the rules are simple, but it is said that it is the most challenging board game to come out of Africa...  Its history interweaves with that of the ancient Kingdom of Buganda, and its King, the Kabaka of the Baganda...

·        Relax and wind-down after a hard week’s work by playing a few games and making new friends!

·        During term-time, Fridays at 17:00hrs (at SOAS Junior Common Room):

o       17:00pm - 18:00 pm teaching beginners - new players welcome!

·        Free East African film after game playing in room G51

·        Non-students welcome by prior arrangement - please contact us at email address below for details!
