pokes his nose to the front in the poconos

The Jauch boys finish 1-2 again this week, only Dan Jauch takes the win this week. While Matt Kenseth's lead continues to keep itself well fed, the Pick-6 teams are going 3 wide for the points lead as last week's point leader Whacker Racing got hung out to dry in 3rd place in the points this week, while last week's 3rd place Dan Jauch has now launched himself into the points lead with his win.

Can we get our money back for this garbage?
The race at the back of the field is starting to obtain a little glow, also. At one point it seemed Farmer's Detroit Wheels was in his own black hole behind the field, but with a few mid-pack finishes and a win here and there, he is now mathematically within 2 races of taking over the 5th place position from Redneck Racing. Thanks to picks such as his Terry Labonte pick in 5th place. Talk about going out on a limb, not only did Terry hit, but Farmer got him on position. Only fitting that Farmer would make his biggest gain this week from a car sponsored by milk.

At least Farmer got all of his bad luck out of the way during the first part of the season, because the second half of the season is where the payouts begin.

Currently the race winnings don't start until the Dover race on Sept. 21 since we only have 6 teams so far this year. But adding just one more team to the field will move the first race winnings date up 2 weeks to the Richmond race on Sept. 6. We almost had a taker earlier this week, but he felt it was just too big of a hill to climb one point behind Farmer's Detroit Wheels. But Farmer's slowly closing the gap.

The Winston Cup teams head to the legendary Brickyard this weekend. This race used to be held on Saturday during the day, the earliest part of the weekend for the whole year to run a Winston Cup race. Now qualifying is held on Saturday during the day, the latest part of the week for the whole year to run Winston Cup qualifying. I know I'll enjoy the extra time to get my picks selected. Qualifying for the Brickyard 400 from Indianapolis, IN will begin at 10:05 am CDT on Saturday, August 2. It will be televised live on TNT.
