Sizzles the Field at Michigan

Same story, different week. Dan Jauch has just opened up a can of WHOOP ASS on the rest of the field. Too bad you can't take the extra points with you into the next week.

Steve Park's 5th place finish at Michigan, combined with a top 6 finish on Oct. 6 of last year, takes him off the longshot list. Because of the lateness of getting these results out, he will be allowed as a longshot at Bristol, but after Bristol he will no longer be a longshot.
Would love to go on about the Busch, Spencer fight, but not enough time this week. Will probably get there next week. Would also love to talk about how Farmer is now one race away from taking 5th place away from Redneck Racing.....what a hill that's been to climb.

Well, although it's one of the smallest tracks on the Winston Cup circuit, it's by far the most popular with the fans. Twice as many tickets were sold for this year's Bristol night race than the maximum seating capacity at The Super Bowl in 2004. Three times as many as what this year's World Series can hold. (According to Speed Channel's Mike Joy)
The Winston Cup teams head back to Thunder Valley this week. Qualifying for the Sharpie 500 from Bristol, TN will begin at 2:05 pm CDT on Friday, August 22. It will be televised live on the Speed Channel.
