Sizzles the Field at the Glen

Dan Jauch obliterates the rest of the teams this week at the road course at the Glen.  I don't keep records on such thing, but I think this is the biggest margin of victory in Pick-6 history.  Dan Jauch was the only team to get Scott Pruett as a longshot, but he didn't need it for the win as he had plenty of points from his finishing picks to get the job done.  His Scott Pruett pick scored him almost as many points as the 2nd place finishers total score.  Too bad you can't take the extra points with you into the next week.

Speaking of Scott Pruett.  In another rare situation with the Pick-6, Scott Pruett had scored a top-6 finish in the 2002 Watkins Glen race, which occurred on Aug. 11, 2002.  Therefore, combined with his top 6 finish from Sunday, Aug. 10, he has two hits within one year and is no longer eligible as a longshot.  It should only affect 2 races next year, however.  The non-longshot page has been updated.

I think I see Kenseth up there.  Dang, he's far ahead.

Despite Dan Jauch's huge win this weekend, he didn't take the most picks on position bonus.  That went to his brother Phil Jauch who had the highest scoring pick on position with Robby Gordon picked for the win.  Unfortunately for Phil, it was his only scoring pick.  Relegating him to a 4th place finish.

The Winston Cup teams head back to the Irish Hills of Michigan this week. Qualifying for the GFS Marketplace 400 from Brooklyn, MI will begin at 2:05 pm CDT on Friday, August 15.  It will be televised live on the Speed Channel.
