Flowers On The Wall
Now Don't Tell Me I've Nothing To Do...
March 20, 2007 - Elected Liars

Alrighty, then.

Like a lot of 'merkins, I am pretty pissed at my government leaders.  Recently, I read a news article in which Dubya (President George W. Bush) stated he was seeking to decrease Medicare and Medicade by billions in the next five years.

I have a problem with this on many levels.  One, my mom (God bless her fiesty 70 year old ass) relies on Medicade. Secondly, how can you ask for billions for the civil unrest in Iraq (which he created) and take away billions from your own backyard?

So, I began e-mailing.  I e-mailed Dubya.  I went down the ladder, too, all the way to my local county reps.

Out of all the e-mails I sent to my elected reps, only one bothered to reply, via snail mail.  Richard Burr sent me the most lovely form letter.  He thanked me for writing him and went on to explain that he, too, was concerned about the situation in Iraq and then he went on for two pages telling me all about his recent trip to Baghdad.

HELLO!?!??!

My letter was about HEALTHCARE.  Specifically, lack of medical care for unemployed and uninsured people such as myself and about the plan to reduce funds not only to Medicare and Medicade, but also the CDC.  THE FREAKING CENTER FOR DISEASE CONTROL!  You know.  The people who try to keep us safe from diseases.

Richard Burr, you are an ass.  You just proved that not only do you not care about your fellow Americans, but you don't even care about the people from the very state you're supposed to be representing.

Elizabeth Dole, Nelson Cole, Brad Miller, and the other local reps for NC and Rockingham County, SHAME ON YOU!!

Nobody is listening to the average citizen anymore.  If you don't have hundreds of thousands of dollars, you simply don't matter anymore.

It's time that these wastes of space, these government employees, know that WE ARE MAD AS HELL AND WE AIN'T GONNA BE QUIET NO MORE!
