| The Bombardment Of Corruption
corruption corruption corruption Bombarded with images of corruption I cannot stand amid the uncorrupted in the dark country side of my niaja land Home of corruption in all I see The world look at me with great disdain grab you from the cages your share they say make favorite stew because you are all known for it Alas! From the earths feelings of guilt I am corrupt too while the uncorrupted tied and choking dangles from Aso Rock Eyes slanted, sharp blood drips down as they read my poem For they have tasted in the cold kitchen drains of The bombardment corruption corruption corruption Life blood beaten from you every night like drizzle of rain the cries tear our hearts as the bombardment cut and pounds disturbed like me, we know it's not right but much is involved- We try to save you but you do not know there are many Caught in a time warp tempted without endurance Bombarded I witness so that others may see it Bombarded I danger so that others may be strong Bombarded I write so they may learn of corruption And I speak of it so they may have a voice against it You never saw my heart beating upon my deafness I am afraid to let it show the me I've come to see and love Because on my journeying I have tasted in the me you do not know the bombardment known as four-nineteen I do the best I can to remedy my fears as I climb high the psychological wall to reach a place called incorruptibility a soon-forgotten fountain as 2007 approaches I think each day about the victims Knowing the President too is not free Think of those who come and go each morn hidden from our sight without a name or face this poem is a clarion call for help against the selfish men Who bombardment us with corruption corruption corruption to heighten their sex and foreplay in my naija land thanks omosun sylvester urdeen lagos state 08052130879 |
