Vocal Notes:

Find the sound in the movement and the movement in the sound.

Find the breath in everything.

Check yourself during various activities and see where/if how you’re breathing.

Silence is as important and beautiful as sound.

Listen for the heartbeat, the rhythm in the sound and silence.

Unison singing is the coming together of everyone’s sound waves into one united wave.

Harmony singing is parallel and interweaving lines.

The sound of the ensemble is greater than the sum of its parts, i.e. individual voices.

A group sound is like a braid, made up of separate and distinct strands that weave together to make a new form, a new shape

Evaluation Method

Students will be graded on their full concentration, participation, enthusiasm, and completion of activity.
