Object Permanence

Type of Lesson:

            Skills development warm-up game

Age Group:

            9-12 grade

Time Period:

            3 minutes

Materials Needed:

• 20-50 objects of any kind
• A table
• A sheet

Objectives:

            The student will be able to focus on sense of sight and recall back a time.

National Goals:

• #4                    -           The student will direct through planning and presenting informal and formal productions.

Procedure:

            Place objects on a table and cover with a sheet.  Have a participants stand around the table.  Uncover the table and let participants look at the table for one minute, paying close attention to all objects.  After one minute have participants write a list about what they saw.  Time them for two minutes.

Evaluation Method

            This is the type of activity that cannot be graded, so it is an all or nothing project.  They get an A if they try and if they had nothing they get a zero.
