Procedure:
Players form a circle. An object is passed around the circle. Make this item something that will not break if dropped. This object is the “hot potato;” each player wants to get it out of his hands as soon as possible by passing it to the next person. At an unplanned moment the lead points to whoever has the hot potato at that moment and calls out a letter of the alphabet. The player passes the potato on as usual. If “C” is called, then the player has to say four words that begin with “C”. If the hot potato returns full circuit to him before he can complete saying these four words then he exchanges places with the leader. Advanced students can increase the number of words said.
