Becoming A Vampire

- The method by which a person can become an undead, as documented from traditions and customs of folklore.-

Predispostions:
1) Birth:
Born at certain time of the year ( new mon, holy days)
Born with a red caul, with teeth, or with an extra nipple.
Born with exess hair, with red birthmark, or with two hearts.
2) Conceived on a holy day
3) Weaned to early
4) suckled after weaning
5) Born the seventh son of a seventh son
6) Death without baptism
7) Received a curse
8) Mother did not eat salt enough during pregnancy
9) Mother was stared at by a vampire while pregnant

Actions in Life Leading to Vampiric Transformation:
1) Committing suicide
2) Practicing sorcery or witchcraft
3) Eating sgeep killed by a wolf
4) Leading an immoral life,i.e., prostitutes, murders, and treacherous barmaids
5) Saying a mass while in a state of mortal sin ( for priest )
6) Being a werewolf

Death or After-Death Causes:
1) Death at the hands of a Vampire
2) Wind from the Russian Steppe blowing on the corpse
3) Having a cat or other animal jump or fly over the corpse
4) Having a shadow fall on the corpse
5) No burial or improper burial rites
6) Death by violence or murder
7) Murder that is unrevenged
8) Having a candle passed over the corpse
9) Having one's brother sleepwalk
10) Death by drowning
11) Stealing the ropes used to bury a corpse
12) Being buried face up in the grave ( in parts of Romania)
