Outside a large and tall new glass covered building, a young nicely dressed lady stands by a car. After working all week, Carrie Anne heads home to spend a weekend with her kids and new husband. It's a warm, sunny day so she had put the top down on her white corvette. Driving along a winding road leading up into the hills along the coast, Carrie Anne looks at the scenery. With the palm trees on one side and steep hills on the otherside of the car, she can see the green trees and wild flowers. With a smile on her face, she enjoys the smell of the salt in the air from the ocean which pounds the rocks below the cliffs. Thinking how lucky she is to finaly have someone in her life that isn't afraid of what she does for a living or of the powers she has and has had as long as she can remember. Most people would be scared stiff if they have seen half the things Carrie Anne has seen at work and in her mind.
Arriving home, she parks the car and gets out looking around at the blue sky, the ocean, the sun and then at the lovely large house on the hill, closing her eyes and thanking god for all these wounderful things. And how she loves this two story, split level house that looks as if a movie star could live here. With the old victorian look on the outside and a country look inside. Who would thought that a small town country girl from the east coast would have a life like this and has done it all on her own.
Standing in the doorway smiling is a tall, thin, young man with long blonde hair, with blue eyes as bright as the sky, Carrie Anne smiles back and says, " I hope that smile is for me."
Todd Mullins replies, "and who else in the world has captured my heart, and makes me feel the way I do when I'm with you?"
Laughing and jokenly playing with her,"are you coming in or are you going to stand out there all afternoon?"
She walks to the door slowly, "I'm coming in, where are the boys?"
"Tommy is upstairs playing with his toys, Matt is out back with Nicky doing what boys that age like to do" Todd says to her as he follows her in the door.
Carrie Anne walks into the house, standing in the foyer looking at the living room and the kitchen which is to the left and to the right is a hallway that leads to the study and a bathroom. Next to the hall is a set of stairs leading up to the bedrooms and another bathroom. Behind that stairway was yet another stair case that leads down to the game room. And again looking at the living room which is brightly lit by the afternoon sun shining in, Carrie Anne goes down the hall to her study and puts all her things on the desk.
Todd's in the kitchen fixing something to drink, " do you want a drink baby?"
"I'll have a pepsi if there's any left" Carrie yells to him.
Todd takes the drinks to the study, " you can have the last one."
"WOW, my little munchkins left me a soda, that's a first" as she takes it smiling and sitting it on the table."Well, I'm getting a new patient in on wednesday from a place out east."
"What kind of case is this one"..he asks her as he stands watching her face.
Carrie Anne shakes her head and answers Todd, "Dr. Ricks said she's very paranoid and clams that her dead sister is trying to kill her."
Todd's face tences at this news, " why in hell are you getting this case, you don't deal with paranoid or plane crazy people, you only handle the ones that truly hear, see and talk to the dead."
Carrie sips her drink and clears her throat, " yes, but also my work consists of proving them right or wrong and collecting proof if these people are truthful or just nuts."
Todd looks at her from the corner of his eyes still not happy about this, "Carrie , ok..your right..time to relax now..go..change your cloths and let me help you foget today."
Carrie Anne walks to the bottom of the stairs, "Im going to change my cloths now..geeez..don't get pushy."
Going up stairs, she can hear Tommy playing and she looks in his room and he has all his trucks and cars out playing smash up. Down the hall and into her room, she sits on the bed and changes her cloths into a pair of jeans and a T-shirt, " Tommy, I'm home, wheres my Tommy?"
"I didn't know you were home,"as he runs into her room and hugs her, "can we go outside?"
She smiles warmly to him, "sure we can, Matt and Nicky are already outside, go, let Todd know were you will be."
Tommy runs down the stairs yelling, " I'm going out back and mom will be down in a second."
Carrie Anne comes down the stairs and gets her drink then hugs Todd, "lets go sit on the back deck and watch the kids."
"Sure, so have you heard anything from the investigator about your sister?"...as he picks his drink up and walks to the glass doors.
"No, I haven't and I wish he would call, this really bugs me, not knowing where she is and when I try to get a mental lock on her, all I get is bits and peaces, so, when are you going back on tour?" Carrie Anne not wanting him to go soon.
"I told George that I was taking some of my vacation, so, I have three weeks to spend with you. My fans will just have to do without me for awhile"....Todd smiles playfuly to Carrie.
Carie Anne looks at him grinning, " All mine for three weeks?...I have some time coming that I can take after wednesday and we can all do something together."
"No, me and the kids have talked about this and if you agree, the kids have plans"...Todd shakes his head as he watches the boys.
Carrie Anne looks at Todd in surprise,.." what have you boys been up to, and what plans can an eleven year old, a nine year old and a six year old come up with?"
"Well, my sister wants the boys for a week on the ranch, then my folks want them for a week and that leaves me a week with them, but two to spend with you", Todd sips his drink and stretches.
"Ok...sounds like you guys have this all figured out", Carrie Anne nods her head.
