I get very upset when
I hear someone make a racist comment.
Just last week, my father expressed his hatred towards Middle
Easterners and it pissed me off fully. I have Arab-American friends and
I couldn't believe that my father, An African American would
even make a statement like that after what blacks
went through in the 60's
I've noticed that
most racist people are older lower-class citizens
(poor people) and they tend to blame their problems on other
ethnic groups...Poor Blacks and Hispanics are always complaining about how the
"Man" (White Men) are keeping them down, Poor Whites are
always complaining about how "Niggers" (Blacks) are keeping
them down by taking their jobs. Now come on, in America, every
society has an equal chance and just because you choose not to
take advantage of your education and therefore, aren't successful doesn't mean
you blame
your problems on someone else. Especially an ethnic group.
I went to an upper-middle-class
if not opulent high school that was predominately
white, and I was under the impression that these students would
be snobby and probably wouldn't like blacks. That was very
ignorant of me to think and actually, it was on the contrary...Actually,
since blacks were a major minority in the school, we were instantly popular
I mean...I guess chicks like black dudes or something because
everyone was extremetly nice to me during my two years there. I was also asked
a few times to join the football team.
Anyway, I feel that
in this day and age no young american at
least has the right to be racially apprehensive. I can
understand older American's views (such as my fathers)
after going through was happened back in the 60s but
our generation should work to help end this bull-shit we
know as racism because soon, we'll have more things to be concerned with, (Aliens)...Omari
