When the first popular crash occured (Roswell), the army
instantly told the press it was a flying saucer. Then a few days
later it was re-reported as a weather balloon. Everyone acted
all mad and upset that we can't have the basic truth about the incident but bluntly
put...most of us couldn't handle to truth.

When the War of the Worlds was played out on radio, a fiction
story...It was believed to be a real newscast and suddenly
millions flocked west to escape the "horror" of an alien visit. Why are
most people afraid of what they don't understand?? If aliens
were to come tonight, there would probably be massive panic, hysteria
let alone the tons of racism it would bring as well...I can
already imaging the picketers protesting in from of the White
H ouse complaing how they want aliens to "Go Home!"

This is why I feel the Government is keeping aliens a
secret from us, and frankly I don't blame them. We'd fucking
go crazy...I don't think we need to know the truth until
we'd are prepared to handle it. We should be educated through
the media rather than just be surprised. I feel this is why
movies such as 'Signs' are coming out now, so we can be less
frightened of what we know.

In conclusion, I feel the Government is doing right by hiding the
truth, they're only keeping the nation from going crazy over
something they couldn't understand. Omari Davis
