| Back in the summer of 2002 I made a decision that would change my life forever. I decided it was time to become a homeowner. After months of searching, I finally found a house to call my own. It's a 3 bedroom, 2 bath 1,300sq. ft. house built in 1956 at the west/central portion of the San Fernando Valley. There was quite a bit done to it before I bought it; new carpeting and flooring, new doors inside, new lighting and plumbing fixtures, new dishwasher and stove, new cabinetry in the kitchen, and new paint inside and out. However, it needed a little more TLC from me before it became Matt-worthy :-) I had a new HVAC system installed, new copper plumbing, about 40% of the walls had this icky wall texture on it - think Mexican restaurant, or the look of frosting on a cake - BAD. Anyway, I had that stripped off, re-textured and painted. I had brand new windows installed as well. I closed escrow on December 13, (Friday the 13th) and moved into it January 25th. It was a scary thing to do, especially all on my own (with a lot of moral support from friends and family), but it was definitely worth it, and it's amazing how quickly one becomes used to living in a place too. |

| Here's a photo essay showing the demo of one wall in my living room, then with the drywall up, and finally all done. It's amazing the difference in the way it looks now as compared to the way it used to look. People who have seen it both ways are amazed it's the same interior. | ||||||||||||||||||||||
