Olympiakos and Anorhosis tied in a thrilling encounter which had the fans on the edge of their feet. Both teams had chances to score especially in the dying minutes when first Froussos for Anorthosis and then Hristov for Olympiakos hit the posts. Even so, if one team deserved the win that was Olympiakos according to the Anorthosis coach Timour Ketsbayia. Olympiakos put up an excellent performance especially in the second half when Anorthosis was forced in its own half. Rotsa used three attackers in the second half (Panigouti, Nikolaou and Hristov) but unfortunately the Anorhosis goalkeeper was in great form. Olympiakos has now closed the gap from Ayia Napa to three points and hopes to reduce it even further next week. The team for Olympiakos was: Stylianou, Adinolfi, Georgiou, Papaioannou, N. Nikolaou, Djenic, Spasic (Hristov), Tiago (Themistokleous), Pittas (G. Nikolaou), Machado, Panigouti.
In a seperate development the agreement with Deqoue has been cancelled due to problems with his status. It seems that the player was never register as a professional player by his previous team in Portugal and this means that he cannot be signed by Olympiakos outside the official transfer period.
