30/04/2007 OLYMPIAKOS close to survival
Olympiakos has added another three vital points through a deserved victory against Paralimni. Olympiakos started the game brightly looking for an early goal that would settle the player�s nerves. And that goal came on the 3rd minute through a G.Nikolaou shot from a close range. Unfortunately the early lead seemed to have a negative effect on the players who concentrated mostly on their defensive duties aiming to keep a clean sheet at all cost. As a result Paralimni took control of the game particularly in the second half but they were not able to penetrate the Olympiakos defense. Paralimni wasted their best chance of the match on the 81st minute when Ilia was twice denied by Stylianou. Overall it was a physical match that will be easily forgotten. The essential thing is the three points and the ninth goal of G.Nikolaou this season who is by far the first scorer of Olympiakos. Olympiakos played with Stylianou, Adinolfi, N. Nikolaou, N.Nikolaou, Papaioannou, Georgiou (75 Spasic), Djenic, Masado, Pittas (85 Hristov), G.Nikolaou (44 Tiago), Themistokleous and Panigoutti.
