10/09/2007 Olympiakos - Omonia 0-1
The first match of the season saw Olympiakos lose to Omonia in the Nicosia local derby. Olympiakos played well and was unlucky not to escape with at least one point as Omonia scored on the 81st minute. This was perhaps a sign of the difference of physical readiness levels of the two teams as Omonia had already played several official games (UEFA cup). Even so, Olympiakos played well and lost some good chances to score with Rodriguez, Djenic, De Porras and Nikolaou. The Olympiakos supporters made their presence felt as about 1000 Olympiakos fans went to the match including several Argentinian Nationals who went to support their 5 fellow countrymen playing for Olympiakos. Hopefully, in the next match against AEL, Olumpiakos will start gathering points. Olympiakos played with: Stylianou, N. Nikolaou, N. Nikolaou, Papaioannou, Rodriguez, Djenic (82 Polking), Injai (64 Deugoui), Machado, De Porras, Panigutti (68 De la Canal) and Gonzalez.
