Despicable people I have known
Len R Though he is dead now I have to admit that of all the thieves I have known in my life, he ranks at the top. He stole from his own mother and sister. He stole from his best friends and his boss (one of the few, he lived off welfare most of his life and money he stole from others). He was always looking for something to steal. It didn't matter if you were his best friend or enemy he would be watching you to see where you put your valuables. He would then break into your car, house or have a party at his house and then wait until you slept and steal from your clothes. I could write pages on his life while I had known him and the people he had stolen from, the businesses he robbed and things he had done which he spent not one day in jail for. You may ask if he was an intelligent person and I would say no he just had a way of weaseling his way out of a situation by putting the blame on another person who was his accomplice. He was the most despicable person I had ever met. I have no doubt that if there is a hell, he is there. The end came when he kidnapped his children from his wife after a custody hearing and was holding them hostage in his home. After calling a local news station, he said he was going to kill the children and himself because he lost custody of the children. He really didn't want the children but he thought he could get his wife to return if he made himself out as the victim. The cops rushed the house in the early morning hours mainly because they were tired of waiting for him to give up. He then shot himself in the chest with a 22 rifle or was shot by a cop when the swat team rushed the building. We will never know the truth, but all I can say is for all the grief he put me through and my wife (his sister), good riddens. You may say, yes, but he never killed anyone. I would say he never may have actually killed a person with his own hands but indirectly he has. A bar owner whom he had frequently had contact with and whom considered him a friend was killed one night. He was bludgeoned to death in his own home by would be robbers. The bar owner was an alcoholic and lived next door to the bar. Len would talk about how easy it would be to stand between the house and the bar one night and hit him over the head with a baseball bat and steal the money. Len knew that he took the money home at night, because he had burgularized the bar before and knew there was no money to be found in there. Three of Lens friends, whom he had told the story to once or twice, decided to do the job. Instead of between the house and bar, they decided to wait inside the house for him. They broke into the house and they attacked him when he came home that night, the bar owner put up a fight and the robbers bludgeoned him to death with a table leg. Len had an alibi for that night, but when I heard the news on TV, immediatly I thought it was him. I still think he was somehow involved in the murder.
You might ask how it is that I have the liberty to know these people. The truth is that I grew up in a poor neighborhood where certain types of individuals dominated the area and even though now I try to distance myself from these people, I associated with them while growing up and in some of my adult life.
Bill J Bill was a junior high school dropout and although not a Len Reiter by any means, but never the less was a thief without any values. He shop lifted and stole from me and many others without a ounce of regret. I felt sorry for the couple that owned the local store where I grew up because they had very little of anything except the little store. The man that owned the store, Bud was a kind gentle man who was friends with all who came in. Bud and his wife lived in a small room in the back of the little store. As small as the store was, it couldn't fit much more than a small bed in that room. Bill would walk in and while Bud was distracted Bill would fill his shirt and pants up with stolen items from the store. Then he would laugh about it afterwards. Bill was not a good thief, I think everyone whom he had ever stolen from, knew he was a thief and had stolen the item that was missing. I know he had stolen items from me and many people I know. Because of his stealing our families were given a bad name in our neighborhood which probably exists to this day. My father never trusted him either. Bill related to me on how my father had come into the place where he worked one day and accused him of doing some damage in his garage. He apparently thought he was in there stealing something. Bill told me that he had accused him in front of his coworkers and that he had a pistol with him at the time and threatened to shoot him. I can't say I really felt that Bill was the victim when he told me the story . I can't believe Bill is the victim of anything he hasn't brought on to himself. Bill now lives in a new house and is driving a new pickup and talks about his new boat and how he has this great respect for wildlife and the great outdoors. Yes, I am impressed Bill. I would bet money that to this day he steals from his local convenience store whenever he gets the chance.
Roger E Roger is not a thief that I know of but he is a womanizer, pothead and has a very low IQ. People call him Rocky, but I think the term Bullwinkle would be more accurate. He is my ex brother in law and general lowlife. The word dope was invented from experiences with Roger. When Roger laughs it looks as though he is doing some kind of dry heaves and is about to expel something from his mouth. Well enough about Roger for now.
Sam L Sam was an ex brother in law that started out a just a prankster and yes a thief too. He was a dangerous driver always looking to commit manslaughter by his insane driving. He was introduced to Harleys by his sisters husband whom had a passion for them after the angels movies. Starting out Sam had built some pretty nice bikes with his limited income even though his family suffered for it. Then with his association with some of the trash that occupies the Harley scene he started doing drugs and the brother in law Roger whom was a pothead helped him find connections. His drug habit grew until he was stoned most of the time. Well, he started selling drugs and finally got caught and spent a little time behind bars. Then he got out and before long he was busted again for selling drugs. His father died an alcoholic and Sam is a drug addict and thats the way he will die also. At this time Sam is back in prison again for more drug related crimes, he will never learn.
