Washington/Trinity-September 3
With a course as challenging as the weather (91 degrees), the OLSH Chargers still prevailed. The boys won with a score of
19-38 and were led by Justin Bumblis, Craig Luzik, Drew Zivic, Dave Kapela and Mike Leon. Joe Cahalan and Andy Yost rounded out the boys team. The lady chargers also won with a score of 16-47. Katie Jarocki, Lindsay Snak, Haley Hinds, Mary Sexton, and Leslie Radanovich were the top 5 finishers for the girls. Now if the Trib can get our names right, and no one else gets lost or sick at another race, we can definitely expect many more wins!

Fort Cherry-September 7
The girls team had a solid victory of 18-42, finishing in 1,3,5,6, and 7th places (With Ann Mazur uncounted in 2nd). They were led by Katie Jarocki, Haley Hinds, Lindsay Snak, Mary Sexton, and Emily Canny. The boys ran just as well with Mike Leon taking the lead, followed by Craig Luzik, Joe Cahalan, Dave Kapela, and Justin Bumblis. The boys team captured 1,2,4,5, and 7th places, winning with a score of 19-41. If the season continues on like this, there is no doubt that Hershey will be the Chargers' last stop this season!
Slippery Rock Invitational-September 14
Somehow it seems that every year the weather at the SRU invitational is cloudy-which is a good thing! This race gave us a preview of what W.P.I.A.L.s will be like. The girls team earned a 10th place finish with the top 5 all finishing under 80th place. Showing a lot of promise for this season, the boys finished 18th in one of the most competetive fields they'll ever see. Keep up the good work!
Mars & Riverside-September 17
With the chance to run a true cross country course that included rocks, roots, and logs in the path, many people got PR's (and twisted ankles!) The boys ran an great race beating both teams. They were led the Drew Zivic. The girls team wasn't so lucky, losing both races by a few points. It could have been the heat or the dust in their eyes, but these girls don't make excuses. They are sure to make a full recovery at the OLSH relays on Saturday.
OLSH Relays-September 22
The rain held back just long enough for all the races to finish. The Girls A team finished 1st and the Boys A team finished 2nd. Medaling for the girls were Katie Jarocki, Haley Hinds, Lindsay Snak and Mary Sexton, medaling for the boys were Drew Zivic, Craig Luzik, and Mike Leon. Everyone did their jobs and ran competitively-which is the only way these runners know how do it.
Central Catholic Inivitational-October 5
The Chargers ran at Schenley Park against many other teams from the area. In the C races, the girls finished with a 2nd place trophy and the boys came in close behind  with a 3rd place finish.
Katie Jarocki finished 5th in the whole race and Lindsay Snak and Haley Hinds medaled in the top 20. Medaling on the boys team were Drew Zivic and Craig Luzik. Running on this fast course gave the Chargers and insight to their times might look like on W.P.I.A.L. championship course at Slippery Rock.
Catholic Schools Championships-October 10
Despite much pressure to win the championships for the third consecutive year, the girls pulled through as usual. The varsity girls team finished 1st with Katie Jarocki, Lindsay Snak, Haley Hinds, and Mary Sexton medaling in the top 10. The jv girls missed a second place trophy by only a few points but their times were very impressive with Liz Jarocki and Shelly Kocsuta medaling. The boys team earned themselves a second place trophy with medals given to Drew Zivic and Craig Luzik. If everyone runs like they did today, the Chargers will be in great shape.
WPIAL Championships-October 24
Luckily the weather and the course weren't as bad as last week at the TSTCA. The Ladies gave all they had in the 48 degree weather finishing in 8th place. Senior, Katie Jarocki came in 17th with a time of 21:54, qualifying to run at the state championships next Saturday in Hershey, PA. The boys team pulled together and had a 14th place finish with Craig Luzik, Justin Bumblis, and Mike Leon all running under 20 minutes. Congratulations on an awesome season, we expect to see great things next year!
