Golden Jubilee of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul - OLPS Parish Unit

The OLPS Parish Unit of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul celebrated their golden jubilee on Sunday, 8th December 2002. To mark the occasion, the SVP members organised a concelebrated mass at 9.30 am in the church. The main celebrant was Fr. Reuben Tellis from Archbishops House. The pictures below show the mass as well as a close up of the altar.

After the mass, a short variety entertainment program was organised at the Sevadaan. The picture below shows the backdrop of the Sevadaan stage.

Fr. Peter D'Souza was the Chief Guest. The pictures below show Fr. Peter, and Fr. Tony Cardoze our parish priest, being felicitated by SVP members.

The variety entertainment program consisted of three items put up by the Sunday School, the OLPS boys school, and the St. Anthonys girls school respectively. Mementos marking the occasion were distributed to the SVP members and those who had played important roles in helping the organisation with its work. The SVP members also put up a short skit highlighting the work they are engaged in. The program ended with a short prayer and the hymn "Without Him we can do nothing" was sung.

The members of the OLPS Parish Unit of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul Conference, along with Fr. Peter and Fr. Tony are below.

The days program concluded with lunch for the SVP members and their associates in the parish refrectory. Fr. Neville said the grace and all did justice to the delicious food.

Thanks! Come again soon!
