Feast of St. Alphonsus (1st August 2002)
The Feast of St. Alphonsus was observed with a concelebrated mass at 7.00 pm.
Nine Redemptorist priests, including three from the Naigaon Redemptorist parish, participated.
The priests who celebrated the mass were (from left to right) Fr. Freddy Menezes
(Asst. Parish Priest), Fr. George Rosario, Fr. Aldrin Nunes, Fr. Frankie Menezes, Fr. Peter
D'Souza (Rector), Fr. Tony Cardozo (Parish Priest), Fr. Franklin Lobo, Fr. Paul Julius, and
Fr. Nevil D'Costa. Also shown in the bottom left of the picture below is Alexander D'Silva who was the song
leader for the mass.
Fr Peter D'Souza preached the Gospel and also delivered the sermon which was
based on the teachings of St. Alphonsus. (I apologise for the blurred picture which was due to
my being unfamiliar with the new camera)
The picture below shows the OLPS Parish Vision and Mission. This was arrived
at after much deliberation by the Parish Council. It has been put up in the church to remind
everyone about the direction that the parish much take in all its activities.
