| Real Name: Michael Maida Age: 32 Birth Date: Febuary 18, 1970 About: Raine Maida is the lead singer, songwriter and rhythm guitar player for Our Lady Peace. His real first name is micheal, but changed it because he didn't want 2 Mikes in the band back when Mike Turner was the lead guitarist. Raine was born on February 18th,1970 and was raised in Weston, Ontario. His parents are divorced and he has one younger brother named Adam. Raine has always been a heavy reader, it helps his creativity when writing songs. Some OLP songs are written about particular books, songs like "Starseed" and "Hello Oskar". |

| But before Our Lady Peace and all of Raines heavy song writing, he was attending the University of Toronto studying criminology and was only 4 months away from getting his degree. Raine has had alot of really bad back problems and 3 knee surgeries, but he finds that meditation and yoga really seems to relive the strain. Some people that have really influenced Raine are Bjork and Sinead O'Conner. Those are his biggest influences vocally. But lyric wise, it's the Tragically Hip. He really loves U2 and he says the record that changed his life was "The Lion and the Cobra" by Sinead O'Connor. |
