Fifth Northern Saskatchewan
Community starts to receive images!
Dear OurLadyweb Email-list Subscribers,
I have exciting news! Images of the Virgin Mary, Jesus and other holy figures are now been appearing in Canoe Narrows, Saskatchewan since last Saturday (Jan.18). Canoe Narrows, like the other small northern communities where the holy images have appeared, is not from Beauval where the images still continue to appear. Canoe Narrows is the fifth community to have experienced the images since the first, Ile-a-la-Crosse, in September.
We have known about the images in Canoe Narrows since they began, but we wanted to make sure that this was a genuine experience of the same phenomena as the other four communities. Having interviewed several people from Canoe Narrows, in my opinion, the same phenomena has definitely happened with an even greater persistency.
God willing, we will have a report and photos after our planned visit to Beauval and Canoe Narrows at the end of the month. We also plan to do a follow-up on the effects of the images on the four other communities. I do have information now so I will give you a summary of the happenings.
The images are appearing on a balcony window at the home of Billy Opekekiw. When they began and image of the Virgin Mary appeared, illuminated with "rainbow colours" (similar to previous phenomena) . The image of Mary is always present. There have been many interpretations of the images. Some see Jesus while others clearly see Mary. An image of Our Lady of Guadalupe has been seen as well as images of "five or six" doves hovering on the window. Many other religious symbols have been seen similar to the ones in previous communities. A statue of the Sacred Heart of Jesus brought into the area is said to be exhuding rose-scented oil through the figure's feet filling the house with a "heavenly scent."
An image of Ste. Margeurite D'Youville, foundress of the Grey Nuns, was also seen on the window. The Grey Nuns first evangelized Saskatchewan through Ile-a-la-Crosse and area. [see article: Ile-a-la-Crosse, Bethlehem of the North (October, 2002)]
Hundreds have said to have come through the house since the images began. Almost the whole community has seen the images and "many young people" come and pray the Rosary.
A special article, [Why the Marian Signs? - Some Basic Questions] is now available on the web site. It answers some questions like "Why does God send us supernatural signs?", "How can I discern true signs from false ones?" and "Why is God sending Mary to us?"
There are now several new features on OurLadyweb.com. The new section Mary, Mother of God is up and running. It includes many pages such as: Our Faith, The Rosary, Ave Maria in Languages, Other Prayers, Messages from Mary, Mary and the Bible, Discussion Board, and more.
I hope all of you are doing well. Feel free to pass this on or email us with your comments at [email protected].
