| I have noticed a growing trend that childrens T.V. is getting really bad. I mean classics like Wacky Races have been replaced with The Telebellies and when was the last time a new episode of Tom and Jerry was made. Even the great cartoons that are still being made are becoming lame, look at the new Scooby Doo cartoons. They're really weak. Don't get me wrong, there are some good cartoons being made like The Cramp Twins, but they just can't match the might and power of The Flintstones. The main differance between now and when it was worth watching T.V. at three thirty in the afternoon is that more emphasis is being put on learning. Children don't watch cartoons to learn, they watch cartoons for the senseless violence. I think that the vionence in catoons teaches children a lesson although I'm not sure what the lesson is. Still, if you're watching a cartoon you see that shooting people or pushing people in to tanks full of piranhas can killl them, and in cartoons dead people come back the next week and because the bad people always die it shows that no matter how bad you are, you can still get a second chance. So I guess the point of this rant is BRING BACK VIOLENCE IN CARTOONS. | |||||||
