Mr. Hockey......David kept playing road hockey, even when confined to a wheelchair...give him a hockey stick and look out

Mr. Hockey......David is playing goal, where there is a will, there is a way....my sister found a small chair for David to sit on so he
could still play his favorite sport...WATCH OUT FOR YOUR SHINS!  Sometimes David would sit on a Special friends knee,
arrangements at school would have students volunteer, to play hockey with David.  Even in a wheelchair, look out.

Through the generosity of the Make a Wish Foundation of Southwestern Ontario......David's  wish to meet Doug Gilmour of the
Chicago Black Hawks was granted.  At this point David's walking needed much assistance, however, after the practice we told him it
was time to meet Doug, he ran, with me on one side and the Chicago Coordinator on the other......if David was going to fall we all
were going to fall down with him.  If pictures could say a thousand words, I believe these two do.  Thank you Make a Wish
Foundation.

We were very fortunate to be sent on a trip courtesy of the Sunshine Foundation (Stratford, Ontario); David's wish was to go to
Disney land to meet Mickey Mouse.  David's family all went.  While there we touched base at Sea World and did lots of swimming
David's smile says it all........thanks for the memories Sunshine Foundation.

This is a very special picture to me.  David's Auntie Ellen gave Ollie Owl to David, when he was 5 yrs of age.  At that time Ollie had
a special spot in his room with his other stuffed toys, shortly after David's diagnosis and David was aware that he was very seriously
ill and the Doctors were doing everything they could, David took a special interest in Ollie.  You would see him carrying Ollie all over,
taking him to school, everywhere.  One day, David asked me if I would make something that said "MY BEST FRIEND" for Ollie.  I
made a red heart,  in gold paint, put MY BEST FRIEND, in necklace like fashion, put it on Ollie.  David just beamed.  Ollie was
David's soul mate for most of his illness and was his constant companion 'til his death.
