            Set up a word processing file and key terms and definitions. Place hardcopy in a portfolio to be turned in to the instructor.

 

Activity 2

 

            Access the instructors Web page on the internet at http://www.geocities.com/ollie63670 .  Click on Organizational Behavior – on the syllabus, click on The U.S. Department of Labor and read the document.  Access the DOL Web site, and research information concerning your rights as an employee.

 

            Set up a word processing file and key 7 of the rights which you consider as most important to you.  Please give rational explanations for your choices.  Place file in a portfolio to be turned in to the instructor.

 

 

 

Activity 3

 

1. Access the Corporate View Web site.

 

2. Select the Human Resources & Management link from the Corporate View Intranet home page.

 

3. Click the Other Government Employment and Economic Links and access three of the sites listed there.  In a word processing file, key the following information for each of the three sites you selected:

 

·        The site name and URL

·        A list or description of the information available there

·        A description of anything new you learned at this site about economic or employment trends

 

4. Which of the three sites you visited was the most interesting?

 

5. Which site had the most valuable information?

 

6. Which site was the easiest to navigate?  What made it easy to navigate?

 

Activity 4

 

            Access the instructors Web page on the internet at http://www.geocities.com/ollie63670 .  Click on Organizational Behavior – on the syllabus click on Unemployment.  Read the document and complete the following activity.

 

1. Access the Corporate View Web site

 

2. Select the Human Resources & Management link from the Corporate View Intranet home page.

 

3. Click Placement Center Job Links.

 

4. Select three of the sites to investigate.  In a word processing file, key the following information about each site.

 

• Site name and URL
• Purpose of the site
• Type of information available at the site
• Description of who might benefit from the site

 

      5.  Of the three sites you have visited, which site would you recommend to a friend who is seeking a job in one of the mission-critical functions like HR, R&D, or Marketing and Sales?  Why?
