ACTIVITY 2
FORMULATING A PROBLEM SOLUTION
1. Access the Corporate View Web site.
2. Choose Corporate View Archive from the Regular Features list. Click on CF4000/SE Workgroup Postings.
3. Read the information. Read, read, read, and think, think, think. What exactly is the problem, and what do you suggest doing about it?
4. Write a memo to be emailed to your instructor, stating the problem clearly. Brainstorm possible solutions to the problem as well and recommend the ones you think are best. In the email, include answers to these questions:
What exactly, in clear, simple terms, is the problem?
How can TeleView ensure that phones shipped in the future will not have this problem?
How can we fix all the phones that have been shipped so that the consumers have a product that meets their expectaitons?
How can we rebuild customer loyalty? To counteract any ill will this faulty product might have created, what can we do for customers who have purchased a defective phone? (This goes beyond repairing or replacing the product.)
Print your memo and send a hard copy by email to your instructor. ([email protected])
ACTIVITY 3
WORKGROUP PROJECT
1. Share the solution you invented in the above Activity 2 with a team of three or four other students.
2. Discuss the various solutions each of you came up with in the exercise. Clarify your various definitions of what the problem was or might have been.
3. Finally, brainstorm a group solution to the problem. Have one person act as the scribe, and together draft a team proposal addressing the delicate problem of keeping your customers happy with the CF4000/SE.
4. Present you combined solution to your instructor by sending an email with your memo as an attachment.
ACTIVITY 4
ORGANIZE YOU THOUGHTS
1. On the basis of what you have learned in this Unit while resolving the problem of the CF4000/SE, think and write about the following questions. Record your answers of 25 to 50 words in a word processing document.
What resources on the Intranet helped you learn the most about the CF4000/SE?
What steps did you follow to resolve the problem. You might wish to use a numbered list to walk your reader step-by-step through the process you used to resolve the problem.
2. Proofread and spell-check your document. Send a hard copy via email as an attachment.
