Project 4
Oral Presentation
Effective presentations and briefings provide people with digestible information. Information is the oxygen of a working organization; it reduces uncertainty and clarifies scope, purposes, and direction for workers. In other words, business presentations answer questions. The following four types of presentations are commonly used in organizations:
·
Persuasive (getting agreement or action from the
audience)
·
Explanatory (providing knowledge)
·
Instructional (teach others how to do or use something)
·
Progressive (brings audience up to date on some
project)
This activity will be a group project. Groups will meet to discuss reports
completed in the last project. From these reports, choose one to be the subject of the group presentation.
Prepare a PowerPoint presentation to be presented to the class. Divide the work up evenly so that each member is a participant.
Be sure to include an exciting introduction. Among the techniques effectively used by speakers are the startling statement, rhetorical question, a quotation, a definition, a short narrative, or audience participation.
Also,
include a summary at the end of the presentation.
