I have never seen this play before. I was so excited for Sebastian Bach for landing the role of Jekyll & Hyde. I've been a long time fan of his and was quite surprised that he was to be on Broadway. I went in, not knowing what to expect with the story line, and it is execellent! I knew Sebastian was an excellent singer, but was curious to see him handle a less rock and roll song line-up. His performance was spectacular. I got the chills quite a few times during the play. He is so believable in his character, so genuine. What a difference from seeing him perform with his band. I think people are looking at him in a new light, seeing now what he is capable of doing. Sebastian just continues to blow my mind. I love the fact that is he like a little kid, going up to bat for the first time. I heard him say to people outside the stage door, "can you believe I remembered all my lines?" And just with the comment that he said to the first row, posted above by Salitaliano, "didn't get any sweat on you guy's did I?." Sebastian is a rock star, it's in his blood. I read an article that he said it's hard not to move around, he has to control himself. He said there are things he just can't do up on the stage, like bite off the heads of roses and spite them into the crowd, which I seen him do at my first show. I saw J & H on Friday, 7/21. I couldn't get enough so I went back on Saturday. I purchased tickets for his last run on October 1st. Hopefully, I'll see it a few more times in between. What an addiction this is. If you haven't seen Sebastian yet, you are truly missing out. Hopefully they'll record a CD with him singing the role, I'll be the first in line. |
