Celebrating her birthday last April 30, 2006. A few weeks before she was diagnosed with AML

Dear Friends,

My sister and I decided to put up this website in order to inform our friends about the medical situation of our mother as well as to seek your spiritual and financial assistance regarding our mother’s medical condition or seeking your help in letting people who you know could extend us some assistance.

My mom was diagnosed with Acute Leukemia last May 2006 and was advised to go through immediate chemotherapy treatment. Even at the low state of our finances, we decided to have her go through the treatment and hope that we could find means to sustain the medical expenses resulting from the treatment. We decided to sell some of our assets and identify real estate properties that we can convert to cash to pay for the medical bills. During these days, it is quite difficult to dispose of real estate properties and it takes months for them to be sold (even at an undervalued rate). We have already been looking for buyers for the properties of my mom that could be sold.

My mother's business have been in red for almost a year already, with the current situation in the Philippines, aggravated further by numerous controversies surrounding the business caused by a fly-by-night business competitor, it has prompted the government to slowly close businesses of our nature.

Everyday, my sister and I is looking for ways to pay the bills, expenses and our obligations. We have exhausted part of our personal savings during her leukemia treatment. Our family's finances have already been exhausted also for her treatment as well as for her several hospitalizations before she was diagnosed with acute leukemia.

Three weeks after her first admission to the hospital for chemotherapy, we were told that her condition is becoming stable and it seems that the leukemia cells were totally killed by the chemotherapy. They told us that we can already bring her home in two days time. On the day of her discharge to the hospital, her doctor told us that her tests shows that her leukemia is back and she needs to undergo treatment on a higher dosage immediately a week time. My mom doesn't know that time that her leukemia is back to give her the time to relax and enjoy while waiting for her next treatment's schedule. Just two days after her discharge from the hospital, her condition became critical and her doctors advised us to confine her to the hospital immediately and an immediate blood transfusion was instructed. She is again confined at the Medical Center Muntinlupa (Room 304). Her previous medical expenses reached 700TH (and we thank some of our friends whose generous hearts paved way for us to survive the expenses).

She is currently still in the hospital, one of our aunts was generous to lend us some money in order to pay for the expenses we are incurring during this second confinement and chemotherapy treatments. July 7, 2006, her doctor advised us to transfer her to St. Luke’s Medical Center already for she might get a different medical protocol that might improve or eventually solve her condition. Her sisters and mother decided that we transfer her and on July 8, 2006, she was transferred to St. Luke’s. We know that medical procedures in St. Luke’s are very expensive but my mom wanted to be there, she feels comfortable there and her hope are at peak while in St. Luke’s. She is fighting and we can feel it, and we don’t want to bring down her hopes and we wanted to give her the comfort that she needs in order to extend her life.

At of this moment, our financial resources are already reaching limits that is why we decided to again to appeal to your generous hearts for any financial or medical assistance you could extend to us and give my mom a chance to live. My mom doesn’t want to quit fighting and I hope you could share with her fight and help her continue living because she really wanted to live. We appreciate if you could share our situation to people who you may know could extend their generous hands to us during this crisis in our family. Our family cannot materially repay all of these you are extending us but we are praying that God help us in repaying all these blessings by extending the blessing we are receiving to your family as well.

Thank you very much for any assistance you could extend to us.
