
TONY
OSOBA was born in Glasgow,
Scotland, and has become a familiar face to TV audiences in a career spanning
more than 30 years. His breakthrough role came in 1974 when he starred opposite
Ronnie Barker in the popular BBC sitcom ‘Porridge’. Tony played in-mate Jock
McLaren throughout all 3 seasons of the show, as well as in the
follow-up series ‘Going Straight’ in 1978 and starring in the film version
of Porridge in 1979.
In 1985, Tony starred as Det. Sgt.
Chas Jarvis in all three seasons of the popular Drama series ‘Dempsey &
Makepeace’, and later joined the cast of
‘Coronation Street’ in 1990 as
Peter Ingram. During his career he has appeared in many programmes, including 'Doctor
Who', ‘The Bill’,
‘Taggart’, ‘Bugs’
and ‘Holby City’.
Recent credits include ‘Casualty’, ‘Waking The Dead’, ‘Merseybeat’, ‘Doctors’ and ‘EastEnders: Perfectly Frank’ Tony has many stage credits to his name, including work with the Royal Shakespeare Company, as well as starring in and co-producing plays on tour in the United States. In 2005, Tony starred in a massive UK Theatre Tour of ‘The King & I’ as the Kralahome. Tony starred as Archie Richmond in Tanner. He recently filmed a guest role for the popular channel 4 soap 'Hollyoaks'.
