
FIONNUALA
ELLWOOD was
born in Dulbin in 1964, and has been acting on television for nearly two
decades. She first shot to fame when she was cast as feisty Lynn Whiteley in 'Emmerdale'
in 1989, a part she played for 6 years.
She has also appeared in many of Britain's most popular drama series, including 'Prime
Suspect 1' as a Pathologist,
'The Bill' as
several characters, 'Heartbeat'
as Sylvia, 'Casualty' as
Margaret Kenyon, 'Brookside'
as Melanie
Taylor, and recently she appeared in both
'Doctors' as Grace Chalk
and
'Holby City' as Nessa Thornton.
Fionnuala is also a drama teacher, based in London, and is also a full qualified scuba diver! She had worked with director Mervyn Cumming on 'Emmerdale', and more recently in Crossroads, and Mervyn recently cast her as Joan Langford in the short film Murder by Appointment', a part that the film-makers would like her to reprise in the potential full-length version in the near future.
