BERNARD
WRIGLEY has
become a well-known face on television, whether as intrepid inventor Barry Clegg
in 'Emmerdale'
or for his guest appearances in some of the best comedy shows on British
Television. His comedy credits include Peter Kay's 'Phoenix
Nights' as Dodgy Eric, Victoria
Wood's 'Dinner Ladies'
as Bob, 'Last Of The Summer Wine'
as Duane, and he appeared in the first episode of 'Cold
Feet' as
a cab driver. He has also featured in 'Coronation
Street' as 6 different characters over the
years, first off as a pub comedian in 1976, and most recently as the rather
weird Reverend Marvin Winstanley in 1999.
Bernard's film credits include 'The Parole Officer' with Steve Coogan, 'Brassed Off' with Ewan McGregor, and 'A Private Function' with Michael Palin. Bernard is also an established folk singer, and has released 15 albums to date. Bernard played Tanner's uncle Larry Webb in 'Tanner' in 2006, and more recently appeared in the BBC3 sketch show 'It's Adam & Shelley' and in the Radio 4 Play 'Patty's Patties'. Bernard's folk career is currently the focus of Oliver Crocker's latest documentary, The Bolton Bullfrog!
