| Sunday June 22 2003 By Sam ------------------------------------------------ I have some new about Pirate Islands: PIRATES WIN ATOM AWARD Jonathan M Shiff Productions live-action children's drama series Pirate Islands won the coveted Atom Award for Best Children's Television Series 2003 it was announced at the awards presentation in Melbourne on Saturday evening. Having debuted in Australia on Network Ten at 4:00pm on Monday 26 May the series is enjoying huge ratings success and features and outstanding cast, starring Brooke Harman as the feisty Kate Redding, Colin Moody as the cruel Captain Blackheart and Oliver Ackland as Mars, the dashing leader of the Castway Children. The award was accepted by co-producers Jonathan Shiff and Daniel Scharf and lead actress Brooke Harmon. Said Jonathan Shiff "the Atom Awards are recongnition of the excellence in the industry and so it is a huge honour to receive this award." With a second series currently in development, PIRATE ISLANDS was produced with eht financial assistance of Film Vicroria. Source |

Here is the news for today: *Oliver is said to be in Queensland filming the 2nd series of Pirate Islands. *The website teleimages have done a review on the show pirate islands. "When 14-year old Kate sneaks a test drive of her dad's pototype computer game, she and her siblings are inadvertently zapped into the ultimate digital escapade. Landing on the Pirate Islands, Kate's computer game mastery is put to the test when she faces off with Blackheart and the band of pirates she must defeat in order to go home.
