"Talent"
by Lianne Olive Hennig
Dreaming mists, swirling through my mind - until the truth, and sanity, I one day find...
Flying through space toward a star - oh, how many stars there are! Slipping in the mud And slosh of time - I’ve seen the grey wooded mountain that I am sure I must climb, and Smelt the breath of inspiration air.
This caused a stirring of new care, gave clarity to the Seeking in my brain, and made anxiety refrain.
A quiet 'thank you' welled within my heart as I began to slowly seed my start but
Wanted, due to a zeal of hopeless thought - yet sought the spark within my last resort - And strove to climb the mountainside - despite the fear - till the rays of sunshine began To sear my neck and back - along my spine - so, shocking me into a new decline. I rested Till new, pink skin grew, and found a way to break through.
I watched in silence, waiting, till I could at last be seen - tread in the realm my thoughts Said I never should have been - so resigned was my art to never-ending pause, and
Choosing only the shallow stones that tumbled for the vain hope of my cause. I'd laid Myself to rest upon a frosted, rocky shelf, and yet felt warm from love inside myself - so, I Pray - begin - and new strength will
sky me from within.
