As I gazed into the depths of inky skies
A star shot, sparkling brightly with its wealth
Of fiery gems bedazzling to my eyes -
And myriad sparklets followed with awed stealth.
It seemed that it would pass over the horizon
But, no, it veered and landed at my feet
With warmth and friendliness so truly brazen that
I looked around with wish to be discreet.
It microwaved its heat into my centre
Until I burned within as well as out and
Longed to tell the world news of my mentor,
Though my throat was strangled by the shout.
Yet even as my voice was silenced of its joy,
My heart outpoured with radiant overflow till
I wondered at the omniscience of its ploy because
The aura round me seemed to grow...
With golden rays spearheading ever outward
Until I, too, became a shooting star with
New energy rocketing me upward to
Seek out unborn starlets from afar.
