October 1998: Flugzeuge im Bauch Lyrics
The
first single to come off the album "Mein Tag" was released to astounding
success. The single went to number one in Germany, paving the way for Oli
to continue further with his career. The single was heavily promoted during
"Gute Zeiten Schlechte Zeiten'" ad breaks. The vocal 'Gib mir mein Herz
zurück' became the recognised bit of the song, along with the gorgeous
video which featured singer Tina Frank, and oli without his top on! A surefire
winner!!
January 1999: I Wish Lyrics
I
wish was the second single spawned from "Mein Tag", and although it wasn't
quite as successful as "Flugzeuge...", something came up to mar promotion
plans- The birth of Ilias on Valentines day. Still, oli recieved a golden
Otto for his efforts at the BRAVO awards. The video featured objects warping
behind glass to show Oli's wishes. Again, Tina was on the vocal.
April 1999: Der 7. Sinn Lyrics
For
Oli's 3rd single he got rid of Tina and just rapped the whole thing instead.
The catchy, big brass tune of 7te Sinn revealed the lighter side of oli,
claiming that his 7th sense was better when he was single.... and that
he wanted a girl to be single with. (riiiiiiight, we understand). For the
video Oli turned Broadway and tapdanced and backflipped around the screen
in white coat and tails. Good to know that those dance lessons as a kid
went to good use then!
October 1999: So Bist Du Lyrics
For
the first single off the new album "O Ton", Oli took the Peter Maffay song
"So Bist Du" and made it his own. The combination obviously worked, as
the single rocketed to number one.
January 2000: Niemals Mehr Lyrics
Niemals
mehr was the first single to be released after Oli left GZSZ. Without oli
being on TV every day of the week, could it survive? The answer was yes,
although it did not go to number one. The video, shot in Majorca (an excuse
to be with Tati while she was filming for the TV series 'Mallorca', which
he appeared on in a singing role) seemed to have absolutely no connection
with the song whatsoever, but you can't have it all, can you?
April 2000: Plötzlich Stand sie Da Lyrics
Along
with frankly scary new look, Oli released "Plötzlich". After gaining
yet another Otto and an Echo, the last single off O Ton was the unpredicted
one, rather out of place. Between filming for a new TV series, and the
prospects of beginning work on his movie 'Girl" (due in cinemas Jan 2001)
The
first album "Mein Tag" was released off the back of the success from "Flugzeuge"
and contained a mix of sweet relaxing grooves and loud in your face tunes.
The chant "Oli P is good for me" became an Oli anthem easily, with it's
repetitive chant and chatty rapping. Chilled out grooves like the title
track "Mein Tag" and "Dich Dich Bleiben Lassen" make for sunday afternoons
while simply fun songs like "Gottlieb" and "Der 7. sinn" bring out the
smiles.

O Ton was released after the much aclaimed single "So Bist Du" landed at number 1. The songs range from the sweet So Bist Du to the moody "I'm Finding You" and "Schick Mir'n Engel", to the tear jerker "Niemals Mehr". There were 3 singles released from this album: "So Bist Du", "Niemals Mehr", and the unexpected "Plötzlich Stand Sie Da".
