Biography

OLGA SOTNIKOVA
comes from Minsk in Belarus, and graduated from the Academy of Music in Minsk, later studying at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, England, doing PP course (Prof. K. Krawshaw, R. Alderson) Then, winning the grand she studied at the European Mozart Academy in Poland. At this moment she is a soloist of Byelorussian State Philharmonic Society.
The repertoire of the singer is wide and various, containing baroque, classical, romantic, contemporary and jazz music.Her preference for the operas of Mozart and Rossini is complimented by an extensive knowledge and love for the works of composers such as Gluck, Bach, Verdi and Tchaikovsky

 

INTERNATIONAL COMPETITIONS

1998 — third singing-price, Austria (International Summer Academy “Prague-Vienna-Budapest”).

2001 — first price at the International Llangollen Festival (Folksong solo), Wales, UK.

2003 — a winner of the VI International singing competition for the opera role in Florence, Italy (opera “Suor Angelica”, for the role zia Princess)
