Romex Jump Shifts
The responses to Romex one bids resembles 2/1 GF. 2/1 responses to a major guarantee a re-bid. If responder re-bids anything except their own suit then a game-force is established. Then what is a jump shift response in Romex? It is a strong jump shift showing 16+ points, a semi-solid or solid six card or longer suit (could be five with a fit for partner), five or more controls, at most five losers, and no side four card suit (except for opener's). As you can see, the jump shift is well defined, so when it comes up you and your partner can accurately bid difficult hands. Unfortunately, these hands are rare...
Opener's re-bids to a Romex Jump Shift are specifically prescribed:
Responder can make a "non-forcing" bid by re-bidding their own suit, opener's suit or 3NT. Opener can place the contract or Romex cue bid-- with an ambiguous trump suit. Responder may also re-bid 4NT as Keycard Blackwood with opener's suit as trump. A re-bid of responder's suit establishes their suit as trump. New suits by responder are cue bids with opener's suit as trump.
