Gambling 3 No Trump

The 23-25 hands rarely come up, and can be bid via the strong 2C. This frees up the 3NT bid for something that comes up as frequently a hand with a long and solid minor.

So, Gambling 3NT shows: -a long and solid minor (usually 7 card suit) -most likely the point count is: 12-17 -no four card major -no voids

Responses to Gambling 3 NT are:

pass: partner I've got stoppers in the others suits!

4C: run! partner pass or bid diamonds!

4D: slam try

      1. Opener rebids 4NT to discourage w/ weak hand, else
      2. bids a suit as a cue bid

4M: 6 card suit w/ no outside A

Opener can rebid 4NT or 5 of the minor as discouraging

4NT: slam try, and not enough for (2)

5C: Just couldn't let opener play in 3NT.

Opener corrects to 5D if D are the suit.
