Old Tobacco Tins
Robert Dixon & Co, established an Australia wide business which by the 1880s was the largest of it's kind. The company was supplied from plantations in New South Wales and Queensland, and was a large importer of American Leaf.

From 1876 Dixon's operated from a factory in Halifax St, Adelaide, and by 1882 had commissioned the building of a new factory in Light Square

The business sold out to the British Australasian Tobacco Co, in 1904.
Dixon's No. 1 cigarettes were trade mark registered in Adelaide on 6.7.1893. Packs date mid 1890s (found under floor.)
