Fowler established their first retail provisions store on King William St, Adelaide in 1854, and from humble beginnings grew a wholesale giant.
They eventually owned a confectionery factory, condiment works, jam factory, and had factories in King William Street and North Tce, Adelaide, also at Port Adelaide, for the manufacture and packing of a wide range of grocery products.
Fowlers also had offices and factories in Fremantle, Western Australia; Broken Hill, New South Wales; and London, England.

The business traded under Fowler family management until the mid 1960s, after which operations were split into a number of different segments and sold off. |
