| That's my ride! Its a 1990 Chevorlet Cavalier Z24. I bought it in July 1999 from Westminster Toyota(yeah I know, I know) in New Westminster, BC. It has black exterior and black interior, which is something I haven't seen too much in the 2nd gen Z24's. Most have grey or blue interiors. The engine is a 3.1 MPFI (multi-port fuel injection) V6 from the GM 60 degree V6 family (2.8, 3.1, 3.1 Turbo, 3.4, 3100, 3400) and it has a 5 speed Muncie-Getrag manual transmission. 1990 was the first year for the 3.1 as it replaced the 2.8L V6, in fact the 3.1 is just a stroked version of the 2.8. The 1990 Z24's are unique in that they have the older "square" body style with the silver ground effects and also have the 3.1L V6. The stock specs on the 3.1 MPFI V6 are: Some others specs of the 1990 Z24 are: The options that came with my Z24 (in addition to the Z24 package itself) were: - Removable tinted glass panel sunroof - Rear deck luggage carrier That's right, no A/C, no power windows or door locks, no cruise control, this is just about as stripped down that you could get a Z24! I guess whoever originally ordered the car didn't want to spend the extra few bucks on the "comfort" accesories. Oh well, one way to look at it is that it saves some weight for racing! My car currently has around 190,000 km on the odometer and its still going strong, hopefully for many more years to come...
