Leamington Review
Josh and I were flicking through an A-Z recently when we came across a funny looking town in close proximity to Stratford and to the town Josh lives in. Leamington Spa or Uhh Uhh as is its local pronunciation is reputed as having a rich and diverse nighltife that draws pre-pubesecent kids from miles around including, sadly to say, our sisters. Well we figured what's good for the townies is good for us and so one Friday night a posse of single but attractive males headed for the bright lights with map in hand and money in pocket.
Our first call was at Voodoo. After a little difficulty with the bouncers they let us in with 2/5 Ids which they claimed was a good average. We only planned on staying there for a couple of drinks but several pints later we decided it was worth a stay. Voodoo has a good atmosphere when busy and with local celebrities like Pete hurley from Antihero dropping in, the place really felt special. The interior is done out with depictions of Baron Samedi and drugs all over the place. The drinks aren't cheap but the shots are well worth it. Watch out for the Tequila Cowgirl, she flashes a bit of flesh at you and you find yourself handing over a couple of quid to drink her juice. So we stayed there till closing time before running across town to Mirage where you can dance in a cage. Wicked!
We had no probs getting into Mirage although it did cost a fiver. It was about half-empty, which is pure pessimism and it didn't get much better. The cheap alco-pops and bad P.A system made you think you were in Grimsby rather than Warwickshire and depite the appeal of the dance-podium and cage the three hours we were there seemed wasted and the lack of nice girls would suggest some kind of genetic defficiency in Leamington. So yeah, our night could have been better and I'm sure yours will be. Go to Leamington....woo.........hoo....
