The Village Voice called it "a terrific novel," Bruce Benderson says "Read it and howl," Old Skool Stuff says "Yeh, its alright." This book is about a young man living in Manhattan who fucks up basically and spends the rest of the book picking himself up and then getting knocked down again. The book's published by MTV publishings so it must be cool and I suppose it has some credibility. If you want an engaging account of New York life with some satirical attacks on society and some wry humour to go with it then I reccomend this book. Check it out. Available from HMV about �6. Yep, you've guessed it I read the book because it's got a flashy title. Well it has but it's also a damn good book. The EKAAT covers the actions of the Merry Pranksters, the pioneers of LSD who travelled America in big painted school bus headed by Ken Kesey. This journalistic style book is filled with surrealist dialogue and philosophical paragraphs going behind what was the cause and ethos of the movement. Also LSD was legal back then, how cool is that? Anway, it's a great book and well worth a gander. Available anywhere for about �8. Old Skool Rating: 4/5
