Movie Filmed in Gayville/Sayville 11782

Andy WorholMovie

Andy Worhol makes films about gay gigolos that come to Fire Island from Sayville!

Moviemaker Andy Warhol made a film called, "My Hustler" about strong, strapping young men that would cross over from Sayville to Fire Island to serve what the film called, "Old Faggots." It was filmed in Sayville/Gayville 11782. It is called Sayville/Gayville 11782 because Sayville, Cherry Grove, and the Pines all share the same zip code and post office. They also share the same downtown and train station. Sayville is the gateway to the gayest place on Earth, Fire Island. It has the highest percentage of homosexual on Earth. In the movie an "Old Faggot" called a service in Sayville called, "Dial-a-Hustler." The strapping young men then take the ferry from Sayville to make it with the old queen.

In real life large numbers of young men from Sayville, often football players, make summer money by selling themselves to the old queens. Most of the money is made in the Fire Island Pines as opposed to Cherry Grove because people in Cherry Grove are poor. Many justify it because they are struggling though college and need to pay their bills.

filethirteen.com said about the movie, "There are bitchy old queens and young boy whores but none of them are ever anything but themselves. There is no drama derived from the bitchy queen trying to be or wishing to be anything other than what he actually is."

There was a woman in the film that gave the "Dutch Boy" some advice, "You are very pretty, but you're not exactly literate, and that would help in old age." At the end of the film, the woman said to the young man who came over from Sayville the truth, "Why be tied down to these old faggots?"

filethirteen.com claims that "Warhol insiders claim that there was much 'secret' lacing of people's food and drink with LSD during the group's trip to Fire Island and that Warhol avoided this drug by only drinking tap water and only eating chocolate bars from his private stash during the trip."

Andy Worhol, often known as the patron saint of post-modernism, was an expert at the timeless art of portraiture. Since the eighteenth century, portraits of famous people have bridged a gap of time, and provided a link to the soul of the subject. Worholw as particularly intrigued by the allurement of high-profile celebrities of his generation. Many insights can be read into the faces of the characters that Worhol created, including his images of himself.

Beginning in the 1960s Worhol was commissioned to make portraits for the prestigious social society that he once as a youth was so drawn to. This demand is not unlike the similar rush in the early eighteenth century England for portraits of well-known artists and entertainers. Worhol used many mediums to create these portraits, and clearly was the one to bring silkscreening into the world of pop-art. Worhol would begin the process with photographs of the subject, choosing one as the image to be enlarged. From there the image was silkscreened onto the canvas, and then painted. Celebrity portraits

Amidst the 1970s Worholcontinued making portraits along with pursuing many other facets of his career including publishing, producing, and filmmaking. His fascination continued with high-profile figures such as a series of portraits depicting China's ruler Mao, during the Nixon administration.
