Avatar of Khaine

by Seramon

Khaine is the elven god of blodshed, murder and war. And he is the prime and only god of the sinister Darkelves. In his name they bring death and destruction to the other beings of the Old and New world. Sometimes a daemonic incarnation of Khaine can be summoned to battle alongside a mighty force from Naggaroth.

Author's Note: I did playtest this one quite a while and must say that everybody was confident about the point/stats-value and the integrity of this character, although he might be a bit weak against troops with many canons and their like and pretty strong against chaos. It is a conversion of the 40K Eldar Avatar/Horned Rat Avatar/Bloodthirster in relations to rules and point value. As model you may simply buy a 40k Avatar.

Weapons/Equipment:  He is equipped with The Wailing Doom, a sword that cries when it smells mortal flesh and blood.

Armour: Iron Body

Save: 2+ / 4+ unmodified

Special Rules:

Immune to Psychology:  He is not affected by psychology rules and can not be broken by man-sized troops, only Greater Daemons and Dragons are able to force him to take break tests.

Terror:  The Avatar of Khaine is a large and terrifying site.   It incites terror in enemies.

Iron Body:  The Avatar of Khaine has an armor save of 2+, which can only be modified to 4+.  This is because his
body is of animated steel. Note that his armor does count as magical.

The Avatar of Khaine counts as a Daemon.  If something states that Daemons are affected, it will also affect the Avatar of Khaine.

Challenges:  The Avatar of Khaine may be challenged and declare challenges.

Combat:  Nine of the Avatar's attacks will be with the Wailing Doom.  His tenth attack is with his left hand (the Bloody Hand), which does only 1 wound, but units suffering wounds by this attack must immediately take a Panic test.

The Avatar of Khaine may only be bought for your army if it also includes a Cauldron of Blood.  If the Cauldron is destroyed, you must roll a dice at the start of every subsequent turn:  On a roll of 1 the Avatar leaves the battlefield, VERY unpleased
by the destruction of the Cauldron of Blood.

Leader:  The Avatar may not lead or join any unit.  He can only fight solo.

The Wailing Doom

The Wailing Doom does not 1 but D3 wounds per wounding hit, negates Deamonic armour saves, and may be used during the shooting phase to shoot an energy bolt up to 12" against enemies at Str 7, causing D3 wounds.
