                                                          BOARDING INFORMATION

 

Old Mountain Farms is a small, 20-acre, family-owned horse boarding business that offers full-care boarding for your horse.  We are located east of Blair, Oklahoma, just 12 miles north of Altus, and just south of the historic “Old” Quartz Mountains and Altus Lugert Lake.  We have an arena on-site, and there is ample riding on the many country roads in the immediate area.

 

Being a small horse boarding stable, we are able to offer personalized attention to our boarders and their owners, and we provide a clean, safe and friendly environment for the caring horse owner.  We love and care for all the horses here as our own!

 

 

Our facilities and boarding services include:

          As this is our home, we live on the premises

Two separate barns and pasture areas

          Riding arena

          Secure tack room

          On-site trailer storage (No Extra Charge)

          Designated stalls for each horse

          Personalized feeding program (usually owner preferred, or we can establish a program based on your horses needs)

          Horses fed twice a day 

          Fed quality hay/forage grown on-site

          Stalls kept clean

          Strict immunization and Coggins requirements for the safety and health of your horse

          De-worming schedule strictly followed on all horses on the premises

          First-rate Record keeping

          Excellent Pasture Management

          Lay-up boarding available

          Incoming quarantine stall is 10x24 and is indoor/outdoor.

Rate: $200.00 a month per horse

 

          This rate covers the following:

 

Stall

One stall per horse; for feeding and shelter readily available to horse, bedding included up to $25.00 worth per month.

Turn-out

Usually 24 hours

 

Oats

Up to 2 pounds per day (when given with specialty feed)

 

Specialty Feed

Up to 7 pounds per day

Bermuda Grass Hay

Provided as forage and supplemented 10 - 20 pounds per day when forage is lacking, (usually after first freeze and before spring forage comes in). 

 

Alfalfa Hay

Supplemented, if necessary and/or desired, during winter months – Up to 1 flake per day.

Oil

Up to $20.00 worth per month.  Costs above this amount incurred will be an additional reimbursable expense.

 

Trailer Storage

On-site

 

Salt

Trace-mineral salt block provided in pasture.

 

Other

Additional supplements can be given at times of feedings and are to be supplied by owner


 

          The boarding rate does not cover:

                   Veterinary care

                   Farrier care

                   Dewormer costs

                   Medications and additional supplements not listed above

                   Dental care

                   Grooming (can be arranged)

                   Blanketing (nominal fee)

                   Exercise

                   Emergency care

                   Wound care or special care (can be arranged)

 

                   As at most stables, these costs and or maintenance measures are the horse owner’s responsibility.
