"When the sad news reached the people of Rose Hill the first of the week, telling Mrs. H. Woodruff, who passed away in Miller last Sunday, sadness filled every home..  Mrs. Woodruff had been an invalid for some time, and her near relatives made her comfortable in Miller where she could be close to medical care.  Ther writer has had an intimate acquaintance with Mrs. Woodfruff for over 20 years, and found her a true friend.  She possesed a most beautiful Christian character, never speaking an evil word of any one, loving and charitable to all.  None knew her but to love her.  The funeral took place at the home Wednesday afternoon and the remains were laid to rest in the Rose Hill Cemetery.  The entire community extended their heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved family. The Rec. John Clayton officiated."

"Sister who wast fair and lovely,
Gentle as the summer breeze.
Pleasant as teh air of evening
As it floats among the trees.
Peaceful by thy silent slumber,
Peaceful in the grave so low,
Thou no more will join our number
Thou no more our songs shall know.
Yet, again we hope to meet thee,
Where no farewell tears are shed,
Yet again we hope to greet thee,
Where no sad goodbyes are said."
